We are now going to switch our focus from describing different high density orchard systems, to some comparative statistics between them.

Michigan State University developed these statistics on potential annual cash flow at $6.00 a bushel. The data was taken with four orchard systems.  They are: Central Leader (a free standing system), slender spindle, vertical axis, and a 6 foot 4 wire trellis. The statistics show that the Central Leader system may  potentially earn drastically  less then the rest of the systems, at $1760.  However, this system has the least number of trees per acre.

The other systems range from 518-605 trees per acre, and their annual income is within $105 difference of each other.  This chart shows that higher density systems can potentially make more money.
